Did you know that Emiliano's Mexican Table is named after a real person?
His name is Emiliano, and when he was only 10 days old, his mom, Vianeth, opened the very first Emiliano's restaurant right here in Pittsburgh.
But this story actually starts much farther away — in Mexico.
When Vianeth was a little girl, she lived in a busy home with 13 brothers and sisters! That's 14 kids around one table. Every day, her mother cooked meals filled with love.
As Vianeth grew up, she dreamed of sharing that same feeling with other families.
So she traveled to America and made Pittsburgh her new home. Soon after, with baby Emiliano in her arms, she opened a small restaurant and filled it with the recipes and traditions she learned from her mother.
Years later, Emiliano grew up inside the restaurant. Then his little sister, Mía, joined the family too.
Today, whenever Vianeth creates a new recipe, Emiliano and Mía are often the first ones to taste it. If they love it, there's a good chance you'll see it on the menu!
Now families from all over Pittsburgh gather around our tables — just like Vianeth's family did years ago in Mexico.
And that's our favorite part.
Because every meal is better when it's shared with the people you love.
